HUGO OLIM - iwas born in Machico, Madeira Island, in 1978. He works in the field of visual arts, with a focus on the mediums of video and photography. The aim of his practice is to explore the diverse nature of imagery and its relationship with sound, time, space and technology.

SYNOPSIS:

LEAFY WEFT is a four-channel video created from four photographs of leafy landscapes taken on the island of Madeira. In the video, the superimposition of the same photographic image in four opposing movements (two horizontal and two vertical) creates an abstract pattern that deceives us about the true nature of the image. When the four movements given to the image come together in their entirety, at some point halfway through the video, the photographic matrix is revealed for a few brief moments.
