WOLFGANG LEHMANN

WOLFGANG LEHMANN - Was born in Freiburg/Breisgau, Germany in 1967. Master of Arts, Stockholm University - main field of study: History of Ideas - supplemented with studies of theoretical philosophy, intersectionality, and art history/visual studies.

In his early twenties, Wolfgang Lehmann started writing film critiques and began working for the film club at the municipal cinema in Freiburg, a position he held until 2005.

As a member of the board and later as the executive chairman, he developed and organized several retrospectives and film screenings. He focused on presenting works of the film- and video avant-garde from its historical beginning until today.

His first cinematic efforts were made in 1989. Since 1994 Wolfgang Lehmann has realized and produced his own films and has received invitations for showings at festivals and museums in Europe, Japan, People's Republic of China inclusive Hong Kong, South Korea, India, Bangladesh, Israel, Canada, USA, Argentina, Brazilian, Peru, Ecuador, Columbian, and New Zealand. Retrospectives were shown in Berlin, Frankfurt/Main, Granada, and Cagliari (Sardinia).

After living for a brief period in Berlin, Wolfgang Lehmann has resided in Stockholm, Sweden with his wife and his two children since 2006.

SYNOPSIS:

DRAFT II: The film is a dream image consisting of landscapes and sea shots - a film poem. The images are the result of overlays of various recordings, underlie by an overlay collage of religious chants. There is no narrative and no correct interpretation. The viewer remains alone with his own feelings and moods that the film triggers in him.

SYNOPSIS:

MY ETERNAL FASCINATION FOR THE SEA : As the title suggests, it is a tribute to the sea. A very short "handmade" digital picture with slight psychedelic vibrations.

The used recordings for the visual result were recordings of the Atlantic Ocean in northern Portugal with water reflections from Stockholm and an abstract composition that was constructed on light reflections.
